As announced, only a small delay, I present to you the first player foobar2000. Next, I meet the first promise, a review of the program Mp3tag, so you can continue to zutaggen reasonable. Please forgive me ;-)

Foobar2000, a player who was then the big race against Winamp and Sonique itself is lost, again appeared on the dance floor and now became far more interesting than Winamp. The years of development by Peter Pawlowski, who has pounded the program alone from the soil and so far it alone potters, has borne fruit and the player to one of the most modern, though not easily made.
What the Foobar can it ever so (in outline):
- ReplayGain (all songs on an album, or a self-assembled compilation to be a volume raised / lowered - reversible process)
- Gapless playback (pieces can be played without interruption, provided the appropriate music format - mp3 / flac & Co. - it supports - for this we come back later)
- support for a huge number of formats (in principle why play is everything - and if it is not available directly from the installation, so there is probably already somewhere a plug-in for the format)
- A fairly large community, not least for developing additional plug- the necessary and important for survival is
- trans coden The ability to transfer songs (from a Format to another, Flac to Wav, Flac to Mp3 etc), while maintaining the metadata (exception: Embedded cover must then be integrated via an external program again, see later MP3Tag)
As soon as the first Foobar start time, is one which (for some) simple surface
on, which can miss programs like Winamp and the required right after the order requested. Arrangement? Exactly, at the first start (and later changed) the basic layout of the program representation is determined. Where does the library, where the visualization may etc. The fact that this move quite minimalist, is entirely by the developer so desired. The appearance is in fact adapted, but provided with difficulties and nastier Scripterei. Extending the Foobar even with the one or other plug-in, you get a powerful player that not only music can play in all variations, but they still managed to provides tags, converts or archives the library (I would still be at EAC ;-)).
lyrics are no problem. We can, with the appropriate add-on (yes, there are a lot of), Lyrics download it directly into the Foobar (partially synchronized, active singing along) to embed into the file or copy.
